Then I would wear it to Williamsburg and loudly insist that it was historically accurate.Thread-Headhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15993301657471657837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261676034084131707.post-80954808931976970832013-01-14T20:30:04.725-05:002013-01-14T20:30:04.725-05:00Take a look at pinterest.com/pin/23045770590350027...Take a look at pinterest.com/pin/2304577059035002721. Still, I was hoping you'd do it in that incredible mock-up fabric because that is, well, unspeakably WTF.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03095426164654110973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261676034084131707.post-50279570844386939562013-01-14T17:09:08.724-05:002013-01-14T17:09:08.724-05:00Oh, no, we are talking 1976. That jacket was made out of silver and white crap-brocade and has probably long since frayed away to dirty threads...
NAuntieNanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11202319448791012747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261676034084131707.post-10077131330142629022013-01-14T15:54:19.756-05:002013-01-14T15:54:19.756-05:00I've never seen this site! Self-fabric buttons may work, but I'm not sure if I left enough overlap to pull it off. The Museum of London jacket has the blanket-stitched seams and that is calling to me more than anything at the moment. When time permits, I'm hittin' the 1600s again. It is really, really addictive!Thread-Headhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15993301657471657837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261676034084131707.post-45313406407992698322013-01-14T14:23:37.308-05:002013-01-14T14:23:37.308-05:00I was so jazzed by your struggle to answer the sho...I was so jazzed by your struggle to answer the shoulder seam question, that I went on a happy search of the internet for any museum images that might help last night. I remembered a costumer putting me in a 1616-ish doublet that I vaguely remember had a sloping seamline, and little porches, in its makeup. Where did she get the image? hmmm. Of course I wound up finding a list of museums I'd never heard of, and totally wrong period, of course, ran across this one I thought you might like, if and when you are doing a flapper dress... http://tirocchi.stg.brown.edu/exhibition/fashion/index.html
Enjoy,
Nancy NAuntieNanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11202319448791012747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261676034084131707.post-1968007611135571042013-01-14T01:28:42.546-05:002013-01-14T01:28:42.546-05:00I love love love this style of jacket. I think you did a great job, and maybe it only needs, like, a nice tight line of self-covered ball buttons to trim. Covering the seams in a little something-something always looks nice too :-)Lauren Stowellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09008240537371936468noreply@blogger.com
